Jordon Ruth Soper (b. 1996) is a New York City-based artist, photographer, educator, and transgender woman from Downeast Maine. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Photography from Bard College in Annandale-on-Hudson, NY. She teaches in the BFA Photography Program at Parsons School of Design.
Embracing a range of contemporary photographic techniques, her practice concerns narratives of human origins as they weave through myth, religion, and natural history. Her work is motivated by the question of where we come from and the competing urges to embrace and dissect that mystery.
